Growing up in a Christian home is a giant blessing and a tiny curse. A huge blessing in that I knew of Christ from an early age but a curse in that it was so familiar He was not treasured in my life. In college my friends who deeply loved Jesus engaged and confronted me with the reality that I didn't actually know Him though I knew much about Him. It was at this point that I not only fell in love with Jesus for the first time but had the first stirrings of wanting to serve in ministry in some capacity.
Throughout my college years, as I worked hard to cram a 4-year degree into 6 or so, I began to grow in a hunger for God's Word and Theology and thus transferred to Covenant College in order to pursue a Bachelors in the Theological Studies. From there I became a high school teacher for two years in Rockville, MD where I met my wife, Bethany, with whom we later welcomed our first child in 2016. As the desire for pastoral ministry became clarified we moved to Charlotte so I could attend RTS where I graduated in 2013 with a Masters of Divinity. During this formative time of study, we were also prepared for our new venture by interning here at Crossway first with M28 in 2012-2013 and later as a pastoral intern at the church in 2014-2016. In January of 2017 I had the privilege of coming on staff full-time as an elder to help oversee Community Groups, teach Sunday classes, and partner with the other guys to care and lead the church by God's grace.
My Hope for Crossway
My hope for Crossway is that we would be church more and more that loves each other as Christ has loved us for our good, His glory, and the good of our city.
